Breeders’ Cup Classic Picks – Zenyatta The Choice
The 2009 Breeders’ Cup World Championships will be taking place this November 6th and 7th this year and everyone is getting excited for the big race.
There will be a total of 14 races spread out over two days with just under $26 million in potential winnings.
Santa Anita Park will be the venue and here are some of the early odds on the big race:
Breeders' Cup Classic: Einstein (5/1), Mine That Bird (15/1), Rip Van Winkle (5/1), Sea the Stars (2/1), Zenyatta (10/1), Summer Bird (8/1).
The mile and a quarter race will be the finale of the marathon of races but the real question is who will take it.
Zenyatta has had an outstanding season has been the other filly that’s been dominating the scene and she’ll be one to keep your eye for the Breeders’ Cup. Like Rachel Alexandra, she’ll be looking to make a statement amongst the boys at the big event.
Conduit, last year’s Turf winner, has looked pretty good this year and that’s a horse that’s starting to find his groove. You can expect another turf with for Conduit.
Another interesting filly is Goldikova, who really showed a burst of speed we haven’t seen in a while when she destroyed the field at the Mile. Trainer Freddie Head has this in even better shape and this could really shape up as a run between the girls if she holds up her end of the bargain.
It’s hard to go against Zenyatta for now. Look for her to take the Breeders’ Cup Classic this year.
