Did you make an Informed Decision at the Track on the Weekend?

Winner's Circle

Congrats to all horse race betting fans who made the informed decision on the weekend and chose…er, Informed Decision to win the Grade 3 Presque Isle Masterson at Presque Isle Downs this past Saturday. I know it’s a cheesy joke, but it’s one I simply have to make.

Informed Decision, led by jockey Julien Laparoux, was simply dominant, starting the 6 1/2 –furlong race on the outside and charging hard down the stretch to win by 2 ½ lengths. Sweet Lorena finished second followed by Flashing in third.

While Rachel Alexandra has been the filly newsmaker of the year so far, Informed Decision is threatening to steal some serious thunder late in the season. She’ll race in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint at Santa Anita on November 6. It’s unclear if she’ll run before those dates, however. Trainer Jonathan Sheppard indicated that he’d pushed Informed Decision hard in recent weeks and may want to rest her before she makes a big push in the high-profile November races.

If she does race again sooner, Sheppard indicated that it will be in the six-furlong Thoroughbred Club of America on October 10. If she races then and you like betting on horses, you should keep a close eye on her after her brilliant showing on the weekend.
